Vi alejarse a mi contacto.

We get together as usual with Pata de Araña at Independencia and Avenida La Plata, at the Etéreo bar.
With the key words in Spanish according to our profession, I said:
—It is strange, spider, that being a fly you do not know me, and being an ant you would not tell me.
To which Pata de araña replied:
—On Sunday, Piringo will be married.
We looked, we noticed that there were no intruders in the surroundings and, my companion said:
—In the neighborhood of Pompeii, there are tangueros who, when feeling cornered, would say: "Ma, I do not know, I had a barbarian Kurd."
I looked at him without saying anything. I concluded that it was a very clever ruse of my companion and the tangueros.
I waited for my response to have a similar effect, and I refuted:
—The key to success lies in having attitude.
—María Marta Attitude? —Asked my interlocutor.
I immediately noticed that he was using a very good tactic of distraction, leaving me in doubt whether with "María Marta" he was referring to a friend of his, to the band "Actitud María Marta", or to the Argentine singer of the same name.
Now I knew his intentions were not to get to the point in question so as not to give me the information I needed. I thought for a moment. But Pata de Araña, with a tactic inspired in a zoo, and to not let me think, said:
—It seems to me that your turtle is getting lost.
I looked at him and said:
—When everyone believes they understand everything, nobody really understands anything.
My interlocutor smiled and said with agility:
—I laugh in January.
—Enough! —I responded almost abruptly. I continued:
—If we're not going to talk about anything, we'd better split up.
We both got up almost at the same time. We looked at the waiter who, a little before, had poured us two caipirinhas that we hardly touched, and who had paid attention to our conversation. He looked at us puzzled and a frightened face. Then, with a wave of his hand, he told us to leave without paying.
So we did. When we got together in Etéreo, Pata de araña and I rarely get charged.
I thought about the chance that the boy suspected something about Pata de araña's and my situation, that we belonged to two intelligence services. If he knew something about my partner, who answered to Brasilia or myself, who responded to the Rioplantense government.
I saw my contact go away.
I smiled for a moment. I thought three things: first, that next time we would speak Portuguese, that I hoped that the Brazilian secret service really had any important information about Erks's intraterrestrials. Finally, with half a smile, that this was one of the advantages of working for the secret services. Among so many conspiracies of intra-terrestrial, dwarfs and so on, one does not get charged the caipirinhas in bars.
